About packaged-food data
Packaged-food information is supplied by the Open Food Facts community. Product details can be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Check important nutrition, ingredient, and allergen information against the product packaging.
01
Personalized goals
The app calculates calorie and macronutrient targets from the details you enter, such as age, height, weight, activity level, and your goal, and you can adjust them manually.
Limitations: Targets are general estimates, not clinical prescriptions. Speak to a healthcare professional about the numbers that suit you.
02
Food diary and nutrition snapshots
Log meals across the day and see calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat in context, with a snapshot for each day.
Limitations: Accuracy depends on the portions and products you choose.
03
Search and barcode scanning
Search packaged foods through Open Food Facts, or scan a barcode to look a product up directly.
Limitations: Requires an internet connection and third-party availability. Some products are simply not in the database yet.
04
Nutrition-label recognition
Capture a nutrition label with the camera and let device text recognition pull the values into a food entry you can review.
Limitations: Available only on supported iPhone and Android devices. Recognition can misread small, curved, or low-contrast labels; check the values before saving.
05
Custom foods and photos
Create your own foods with the nutrition values you know, and attach photos to entries for context.
Limitations: Photos are stored on your device and increase the size of local backups.
06
Recipes and saved meals
Combine ingredients into recipes with per-serving nutrition, and keep frequent combinations as saved meals.
Limitations: Cooking changes weights; enter portions in the way you actually serve them.
07
Meal planning and shopping lists
Plan meals ahead and build shopping lists from your plans and recipes.
Limitations: Plans are a guide; the diary records what you actually ate.
08
Water tracking
Log drinks quickly and follow your hydration through the day against a target you set.
Limitations: Hydration needs vary by person, climate, and activity.
09
Weight history
Record weight over time and see the trend rather than a single day's number.
Limitations: Daily fluctuations are normal and can obscure short-term trends.
10
Exercise logging
Record workouts and activities, with estimated energy expenditure where applicable.
Limitations: Energy estimates are approximate and vary with intensity, technique, and individual physiology.
11
Step tracking
Show step counts from supported device sensors alongside your other activity.
Limitations: Requires a supported device and motion/activity permission. Some devices and operating-system settings do not provide step data.
12
Insights
Review nutrition, hydration, weight, and activity trends over weeks and months to spot patterns.
Limitations: Insights describe what you logged; gaps in logging change the picture.
13
Reminders
Schedule local reminders for meals, water, weight check-ins, and weekly progress.
Limitations: Requires notification permission, and battery-optimization settings on some devices can delay delivery.
14
PDF and CSV reports
Generate a PDF nutrition report or a CSV export of your records for personal review or to share with a professional you trust.
Limitations: Exported files leave the app's protection once you share or store them elsewhere.
15
Backup and restore
Create a local backup of your database and restore it later, for example when moving to a new device.
Limitations: Restoring a backup can replace the current local database after you confirm. Keep your own copy of backups you care about.
16
Data deletion
Delete individual entries or clear your personal data from inside the app whenever you want.
Limitations: Cached public product information may remain after personal records are deleted, and files you already exported must be deleted separately.
17
English and Arabic
The whole interface is available in English and Arabic, with correct right-to-left layout in Arabic.
Limitations: Product names contributed to Open Food Facts appear in the language of the contribution.
18
Metric and imperial units
Choose the measurement system you think in, for weight, height, volume, and energy where applicable.
Limitations: Converted values are rounded for readability.
19
Light and dark themes
Use a light or dark interface to suit your environment.
Limitations: Theme choice does not affect your data.
20
Offline availability
Your personal records and previously cached foods remain available without a connection.
Limitations: New product search and barcode lookup need connectivity, because the request goes to Open Food Facts.
